We use a wide assortment of proprietary data and cutting-edge analytics to help customers predict loss, select and price risk, detect and prevent fraud, and quantify losses. We organize our business in two segments:
Risk Assessment
Verisk's risk assessment business serves customers — mainly in the property/casualty insurance industry — by helping to define, measure, and manage risk. Our risk assessment operations include our flagship ISO subsidiary and several other units. All of those units provide data, software, and information services to property/casualty insurers and reinsurers in the United States, as well as many international carriers. We also sell products and services to insurance agents and brokers, insurance associations and service organizations, government agencies, and the risk-management functions of firms in all industries. Our largest property/casualty database includes about 15 billion records, and each year, we update it with almost 3 billion validated new records.
Our risk assessment products and services include:
data and statistical services
actuarial services
standardized insurance policy programs
underwriting information
rating-integrity tools
Decision Analytics
Verisk's decision analytics business serves customers in a variety of industries with tools that help them make informed decisions about managing their assets and the associated risk. Our unique data sets include more than 600 million property/casualty insurance claims, historic natural catastrophe data covering more than 50 countries, data from more than 13 million mortgage loan applications, and more than 312 million U.S. criminal records.
Offerings include products for:
predicting future losses
selecting and pricing risk
detecting and preventing fraud
quantifying losses that have already happened
In the United States and around the world, our products help customers protect people, property, and financial assets.
